Garbage Collection for the area
Recology is our service provider for
garbage pick up. They have a contract through 2012 with an option
to extend.
Mail box theft
Again there seems to be some mail theft
going on in the community. It has been suggested that you might
want to consider locking mailboxes.
If you see anything supicious in the
neighborhood, call 1-408-299-3233 to report it. The Sheriff's
department will investigate as quickly as possible. If you are
going on vacation and want to have a patrol come by and check
you house, call 1-408-868-6600 to arrange.
New construction or remodeling questions?
New construction and remodeling must
comply to County Codes and related CC&R's. . If new construction
is taking place on your street, it could inpact the value of
adjacent property. Setbacks, height and square footage are critical
elements. If you are concerned, contact a SAH board member. Information
on CC&R's has been added to the History page
Community volunteers
The Board wishes to express our sincere
thanks and appreciation to those of you who volunteer in making
our community a more pleasant area in which to live.
Property maintenance
The Board reminds those who are doing
construction that it is you or your contractors' responsibility
to keep the trash inside the fence and under control.
We also remind property owners that
the street area, which may be outside of their fence, needs to
be maintained to prevent the spread of weeds and to control erosion.
A warning has been given as to this being a high fire danger
season due to the early drying of weeds and grasses. Several
properties in the community are also in dire need of repair and
an effort is being made to contact these owners to inform them
of their responsibility.
Intersection issues
The major intersection at the Northbound
off ramp from Interstate 280 onto Magdalena has been of concern
to several users. If you travel that road and would like to share
your thoughts on a better working configuration than currently
at this exchange, you may share them with John Thomas of Catrans
at (510) 286-4603.
The CHP also reminds us that when stopped
at a Stop sign, you must wait until it is safe to enter the roadway.
This is especially important at intesections like Country Club,
Arbor and Loyola where stop signs are placed a long way back
from the road.
General maintenance of the area
County Roads and Airports provide road
services for our community. If you wish to report a pothole or
other significant issue associated with roads, you may do so
by sending a request to the County Web site. Go to web site www.sccgov.org,

Fill in the details as required in the form and submit the request
as indicated at the bottom of the page. For a short cut to this
site go to http://209.35.171.214/req_road.htm |
